Tugaske’s history

Tugaske is a village in the Rural Municipality of Huron No. 223, in south-central Saskatchewan. It became an incorporated village on May 7, 1909.

The name comes from an eyebrow-shaped hill in the Qu'Appelle Valley, above Eyebrow Lake. The lake, about 9 km long and 1 km wide, is a bird sanctuary and lies near Highway 627.

Today Tugaske is nicknamed the Gateway to Lake Diefenbaker. Highways 367 and 627 intersect in the village.
